Robots are of many use to humans, we can’t deny that our life would be as not as convenient as it should be if it is not for robots. From manufacturing to medicine, robots have changed our outlook in life. They have done what we will never be able to do like working non-stop 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In the movie “Etiran The Robot” we had seen the capabilities of an andro-humanoid robot as well as its disadvantages and glitches. We had seen that it had no feelings (at first) that disables it to decide base on situations where it should not do what its master say that may harm others. We also saw how it reacts when it already had feelings where he disregards its master and base its decision on its feelings. For me, we can never create an andro-humanoid robot that decides like a human. Because we humans not only decides based on feelings but rather balances the mind and heart to come up with the decision that is for us the right decision. As I had observed in the movie, it is also the humans that make robots destructive. Not only in the movie but also in the real world where we can’t deny that many people do things that may harm others for their own good. I believe that without human influence, a robot cannot harm people on purpose. For me, robots can never equal humans; it may surpass us in intelligence but not as a human that has feelings and uses it well (unlike Chitti’s feelings). If people create these robots, we should implant into these robots’ mind a universal rule or law where a robot must never harm humans (like in the movie AstroBoy where) under normal circumstances. In general, I firmly believe in developing robots as long as it does not disregards human’s value for life and its creator is responsible enough for its creation and the government passes a bill that sets a standard on what these robots must and must not do.
